Dancer
Farm is a 250 acre working farm with vineyards, nature trails,
wildflower meadows and a fully restored 19th century farmhouse
which is the Dancer Farm Bed & Breakfast Inn.
The farm fronts on Archertown Road which was once part of
an Indian trail to the Jersey Shore. In the 18th and 19th
centuries, three separate homesteads were built and farms
cultivated on the same land that the Dancer family divided
into two horse farms in the 20th century. Vernon Dancer acquired
the north side of the property with its original house, built
in 1838, which is now the Inn, and his brother Stanley took
possession of the south side. The name "Dancer" is legendary
among standardbred horse owners and fans of harness racing.
The Dancer brothers, both Vernon and Stanley, are in the Harness
Racing Hall of Fame.

Preserving the feeling of "the homestead" was integral to
the restoration of the farmhouse and its renovation into the
Dancer Farm Bed & Breakfast Inn. The rustic appeal of the inn
is balanced by the comforts of its modern amenities. Exquisite
attention to detail and subtle design artistry combine to create
an elegance with a "down home" appeal. Each guest room is an
imaginative evocation of a special theme of the farm such as
the wildflower meadows, vineyards and equestrian motifs. |
| Private baths with French massage tubs, fireplaces, private
balconies with magnificent views of the farm, cable television,
Internet access and a full country breakfast all serve to make
guests' stays pleasurable and convenient. Recreational activities
and programs have been coordinated for guests with offerings
of destinations and pastimes dedicated to the arts and culture,
sports, entertainment, ecology, dining, shopping and many more
areas of interest and diversion. |

The
Inn's gardens feature a newly renovated and comfortably spacious
screened gazebo, a perfect retreat for guests. Dancer Farm and
its bed and breakfast inn offer guests a unique respite from
the everyday world. Philadelphia, Princeton, Trenton, Atlantic
City and the Jersey Shore are all within 1/2 hour to an hour
of the Inn and New York City is just 70 minutes away. |
